The following are the important characteristics of Statistics

I). 

Statistics are aggregates of facts.

Statistics are numerically 'expressed.

Reasonable standard of accuracy must be observed in enumeration or c

Statistical techniques apply only to data which are reducible to quantity

form.

Statistics are affected to a marked extent by a multiplicity of causes.

data.

LIMITATIONS OF STATISTICS :

Some limitations of Statistics are listed below:-

1). Statistical laws are true on the average.

2) One of the greatest limitations of Statistics is that it deals with the

characteristics, which can be numerically specified,

3). Statistics deals with aggregates.

4).  If sufficient care is not exercised in collecting, analyzing and interpreting the data, statistical results might be misleading.

5). Statistics cannot be applied to heterogeneous data.

6). Only a person, who has an expert knowledge of statistical methods, can handle statistical data.
